'The Dust Bowl Troubadour' folk music legend Woody Guthrie [1912-67] used his songs and performances
to fight alongside labor against oppression by the oligarchs.
Woody wrote over 3,000 songs in his lifetime, yet only 300 or so were ever recorded.
Woody Guthrie said this about his song "California!" in 1937 - not his 1944 song "This Land Is Your Land": This song is copyrighted
in U.S., under Seal of Copyright # 154085, for a period of 28 years, and anybody caught singin it without our permission, will be mighty
good friends of ourn, cause we don't give a dern. Publish it. Write it. Sing it. Swing to it. Yodel it. We wrote it, that's all we wanted to do.
A song that don't say somethin' ain't worth nothin'.
Any one who uses more than two chords is just showing off.

Selected Recordings
The common estimate is that Woody Guthrie wrote more than 3,000 songs during his short lifespan, yet only 300 or so were ever recorded. Academics are still researching
archival material and finding more lyrics. Woody often performed traditional songs and songs written by fellow musicians, so the list of recordings is also potentially quite long.
