Adolph Francis Alphonse Bandelier was born in 1840 in Bern, Switzerland; his family emigrated to Illinois; Adolph studied the new discipline of anthropology and did field work
in Sonora (Old Mexico), Arizona & New Mexico Territories, then from 1892 to 1903 in Ecuador, Bolivia & Peru; Adolph died while conducting
long-dreamt-of archival research in Sevilla, Spain in 1914 at age 73.

first wife Josephine 'Joe' Huegy Bandelier [?-1892] - married January 1861, died suddenly in Lima, Peru in December 1892


second wife Fanny Ritter Bandelier [] - married in Lima, Peru in 1893 and widowed in 1914
