          Betty Webb's family is originally from Alabama. She has earned her living at various times as a folk singer, a commercial artist (on Madison Avenue), a cotton picker, a chicken farmer, a zoo worker, a go-go dancer, a horse farmer, and as a literary magazine editor; she also helped rebuild a 120-year-old farmhouse, and backpacked the Highlands of Scotland alone. She is retired from full-time work as a journalist at the Scottsdale Tribune in June 2004, and now reviews for Mystery Scene Magazine and teaches creative writing. She is a member of the National Federation of Press Women and Mystery Writers of America, and has lived in Scottsdale, Arizona since 1982.
