A cowboy leaves Texas after shooting a man in a gunfight and lands in Pendleton, Oregon just before the big rodeo. Hands from his former ranch arrives to enter, and the cowboy's enemy is among them (not killed after all). The cowboy has a deal to enter the rodeo for a local rancher lady, and the Texans kidnap him to prevent Texas from losing. The finale is a Ben Hur-style chariot race.
