Pursuit of the Pankera posthumous novel by Robert A. Heinlein  "The Pursuit of the Pankera: A Parallel Novel About Parallel Universes" [2020]  3/2020
by Robert A. Heinlein, Introduction by David Weber

Written in 1977, first third used as beginning of parallel "The Number of The Beast" in 1980, not pub-lished until 2020; specially-configured space ship Gay Deceiver is able to travel to parallel fictional worlds; since those lands were Edgar Rice Burroughs's Barsoom, L. Frank Baum's Land of Oz, and 'Doc' Smith's Lensman universe, it is assumed that copyright issues prevented publication in 1977, so Heinlein rewrote the last 2/3 from scratch and was able to publish it as "... Beast"
