Beverly Atlee Bunn was born on 12 April 1916 in McMinnville, Oregon, and was raised on a farm until moving to Portland in 1922; she graduated at U.C. Berkley
in 1938 and at UWash in 1939. She married in 1940 and settled in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California after the war. She published her first book in 1950, and forty more
since then. She died in 2021 at age 104.
