YouTube announced in January 2012 the creation of a free video & film competition called 'Your Film Festival', in partnership with Emirates. Filmmakers around the world are invited to submit a 15-minute, story-driven video of any
format, style or genre between February 2 and March 31. Fifty semi-finalists will be chosen by Scott Free; those 50
will then compete for the YouTube audience vote, which will determine 10 finalists; the ten finalists will attend
and screen their work at the Venice Film Festival; the top winner will also get a $500,000 YouTube original grant
for their next production (with Ridley Scott's Scott Free).
