        Michael Connelly worked as a newspaper 'crime beat' reporter in Florida and Los Angeles, California before beginning the Harry Bosch detective novel series. "The Black Echo" won the Edgar Award for Best First Novel of 1992 from Mystery Writers of America. He has continued writing books in the Bosch series, while also branching out successfully with "The Poet" [1996] and "Blood Work" [1998 book, 1999 Clint Eastwood feature film], and others.
        He is currently active as President of Mystery Writers of America, as guest editor of the next 'Best American Mystery Stories' book, and completing further novels & short stories. He and his family live in Florida.
