"Hollywood Tales: An Entertainment"

by G.E. Nordell

I'm not listed on the Internet Movie Database, I have no Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences never heard of me – and yet growing up in Culver City, California ('The Heart of Screenland') provided experiences with various aspects of the motion picture, television, and radio industries that began even before I was born and occurred for roughly 60 years
– until I retired to New Mexico in 2005.

Movies & people & companies & events that I interacted with or just witnessed included "Billy Rose's Jumbo" [1962], "Cincinnati Kid" [1965], the "Columbo" TV series, "Crimson Tide" [1995], "Dr. Zhivago" [1965], Gidget and her family, the Hollywood Blacklist, "Kindergarten Cop" [1990], Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios (and United Artists), Roger Miller, Gary Owens, Steven Spielberg's Amblin' Pictures, "The Time Machine" [1960], Universal Studios, the U.S.A.A.F. First Motion Picture Unit, Warner Bros. Pictures, "Wuthering Heights" [1939], and "Zabriskie Point" [1970].

The true-life stories related in the book might educate about The Show Business
or reveal the quirks of people and organizations
— but the real purpose is just to entertain.

Stay tuned, the book might be published in 2013 or 2014.
